From HTMcommunityDB.org
Level of Severity (LOS) ... is the projected severity of the adverse outcome of a device failure. It is defined at three levels. LOS 3 represents a potentially life-threatening situation; LOS 2 represents the possibility of a non life-threatening patient injury; and LOS 1 represents a possible disruption of patient care such as a significant delay in obtaining diagnostic information, a significant delay in treating the patient, or increasing the patient's length of stay in some other way.
